Hey Everyone,

Happy Monday and greetings from snowy Vilnius ❄️ Today’s issue is probably the most interesting Monday issue ever 🤯 You will see this yourselves as today we’re looking at Robinhood that wants to be with you until your Last Dance (maybe it’s their last dance & 2 bonus reads on retail brokerages & fragility of the brand), Starbucks, which is the ultimate Web3 disruptor (& a deeper dive into their Web3 strategy, which is brilliant!), and Amazon, which is copycatting TikTok, but with a twist (& a more in-depth look into Commerce 2.0). So let’s just jump straight into the awesome stuff:

Robinhood wants to be with you until your Last Dance🕺

The launch 🚀 Robinhood HOOD 0.00%↑, the stock trading heavyweight turned struggling FinTech, is getting into the retirement account business, allowing customers to sign up for individual retirement accounts aka IRAs.

The online trading platform popular among youngsters claims that it is the first match paid to retail IRA customers - Robinhood will match 1% for every dollar contributed, and no traditional employer is required.

More on this 👉 The waitlist for Robinhood retirement is now open. Once accepted, users will be able to open either a traditional IRA or Roth IRA and invest in stocks and ETFs. After their first contribution, they will have access to their funds and the ability to invest up to $1,000.

Why this matters? 🤔 In short, with retirement accounts Robinhood wants to lure back users. More importantly, they want to be your financial app of choice up until you are out of the workforce and finish your last dance. But maybe Robinhood itself is about to perform its last dance? 🤔

Let’s take a closer look.
